Fund Est. 2002
Established in 1967, Decatur Bank & Trust Company was the second bank to be established since the collected history of Decatur, with the Main Office located on Thirteenth Street in Decatur, Indiana.
The original Board of Directors of the Bank was comprised of the following gentlemen: Clarence Bultemeier, Richard Doermer, David Myers, Robert Mutschler, William Salin, Arthur Suttles, and Paul E. Strickler, who served as Chairman of the Board until December 31, 2001. Approximately 400 local citizens supported the founding of the Decatur Bank & Trust Company as its original shareholders. The Bank was capitalized at $375,000.
Today, the Bank is proud to have served Adams County for over four decades and, by becoming affiliated in 2000 with First Merchants Corporation (which employs over 1,100 employees in 65 locations, covering 17 counties in Indiana and three in Ohio) has expanded customer service to include not only banking, but also trust services, multi-line insurance services, and brokerage services.
