Fund Est. 2007
Originally from Adams County, Carl Yoder has had many life experiences. He graduated from Kirkland High School in 1951, and was employed with Central Soya (currently Bunge) in Decatur, Indiana. He was drafted into the Army where he was trained in the radio communications division and sent to France for a year. Carl returned from France and began his life long career in the electronics field. Carl has lived in Washington DC, Maryland, and Arizona. Carl was employed by IBM where he worked on computers often times for government contracts. Carl recalls working in the computer field at a time when current lap-top computers produce the type of information that took a computer ‘the size of a football field’ to decode.
Carl has moved back to Adams County and enjoys gardening, reading, and wood carving. He also has enjoyed his research into his family’s genealogy and traveled to Switzerland to learn more about his family history.
Serving on the Board of the Friends of the Limberlost, Carl has established this designated endowed fund to provide on-going support to two local nonprofits: Friends of the Limberlost and Swiss Heritage Village.
