4-H is a community of young people across America who learn leadership, citizenship and life skills. In 2004, the Indiana 4-H Youth Development program celebrated 100 years of helping our young citizens develop into caring, competent, confident and contributing individuals. 4-H reaches some 300,000 young people in Indiana – 35% of all Indiana youth in grades 3-12.
However, 4-H is only one of four programs offered through Purdue Extension. These programs are:
• Agriculture and Natural Resources,
• Consumer and Family Sciences,
• 4-H /Youth
• Economic & Community Development
The mission of Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service of Adams County is:
Education of Indiana citizens through the application of land-grant research and knowledge base to develop youth and strengthen agriculture, families and communities.
With this fund, a recognition / award is presented for service to 4-H and Purdue Extension.
