The Community Harvest Food Bank, was established in 1983 in
response to the closure of Fort Wayne International Harvester which sent
thousands into unemployment and completely overwhelmed social service agencies,
churches and faith-based organizations with requests for food assistance. Today, the northeast Indiana regional food
bank proudly serves Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben,
Wells and Whitley counties in feeding their hungry. This fund assures continued provision of
meals and food services to Adams County residents experiencing food insecurity.
