Charles Porter Beall, born in Fort Wayne, IN had a rich ancestry
in the Adams County area. He would visit his Great Aunt Geneva Stratton Porter while
she lived in the Dugan home, which is presently known as the Adams County
Museum. Mr. Beall had an interest in the preservation of plants and trees and supported
wetland restoration in Indiana in honor of his Great Aunt Geneva Stratton
Porter. To leave a lasting legacy, he established an annuity in the Adams
County Community Foundation to provide financial support for the Adams County
Historical Society and Friends of the Limberlost, Swampland Remembered.
